Guided Tour of Historically Significant Sites in Prague 2 - Nové Město/ New Town

- When: Saturday, May 3, 2025, 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM
- Venue: Historical building of CTU Prague at Karlovo náměstí, Church of Sts. Cyril and Methodius and its crypt in Resslova street, Emmaus Monastery Na Slovanech
- Meeting place and time: between 9:45 and 10:00 a.m. at Karlovo náměstí 13, Prague 2, at the entrance to the Czech Technical University
- How to get there: by metro B, exit Karlovo náměstí, E2, or by tram no. 2, 3, 6, 14, 18, 22, 23, 24 to Karlovo náměstí stop
- What to look forward to: We will start in the entrance hall of the historical building of the CTU Prague, where we will see the Foucault pendulum, then we will visit the nearby Church of Sts. Cyril and Methodius, especially its crypt, where the heroes of Operation Anthropoid were hidden during the Second World War. We walk to the Emmaus Monastery, founded in 1347 by the Bohemian King Charles IV. We then pass the Faust House, a historical building with fascinating legends and stories, and finish our tour in Na Slupi Botanical Garden.

Guided Tour of the Historical Sites on Bílá Hora / White Mountain, Prague 6

- When: Friday, April 25, 2025, from 14:45 PM in front of the school building B
- Venue: Pilgrimage Convent at Bílá Hora, Karlovarská 3/6, Praha 6, https://www.benediktinky.cz/en, the Monument of the Battle at Bílá Hora , the Hvězda/Star Summer Castle and the surrounding park
- Meeting place: Option 1: at 2:45 PM in front of the UCT Prague B building at Technická 3
Option 2: at 3:20 PM at the terminal station Bílá Hora of the tram No. 25 or 22 - What to look forward to: We´ll walk around the sites, where significant events of the early 17th century took place, shaping the development of the Czech lands for the next 300 years. We will start our tour at the Pilgrimage Benedictine Convent designed by the genius Czech architect Jan Blazej Santini-Aichl. We´ll continue to the Monument of the Battle at Bílá Hora in 1620, and take a stroll through Hvězda Park to the Summer Castle Hvězda/Star. Our guide, Martin, will share fascinating stories about each historical site we visit.
