Trip & Walk from Únětice to Roztoky u Prahy
A social event organised for international staff and students of UCT Prague and their family members and friends
- When: Friday, June 12, 2026, from 2:50 pm to 6:30 pm
- Trip route: Únětice Brewery, U Lasíků little pub/cafe, Quiet Valley along Únětice Stream to Roztoky u Prah, Chatteau with regional museum
- Meeting point: at 2:50 pm in front of the UCT Prague, B building at the corner of Šolínova and Zikova streets
- How to get there and back: We will take Bus No. 355 at 3:10 pm from Dejvická station (the platform where buses depart towards Suchdol). The journey takes about 25 minutes, and we will get off in Únětice near the brewery.
On the way back, we will travel from Roztoky u Prahy station either by regional train or by bus back to Dejvice. - What we´ll enjoy: Our trip will start at the local Únětice Brewery (Únětický pivovar), which has a long history dated back to the 18th century, where we can have a light snack. Then we will walk through Únětice, and we may also stop at a cozy little pub U Lasíků to enjoy some homemade sweet or savory pastries, a drink, or coffee. 🚶After that, we will set off through Quiet Valley (Tiché údolí) right alongside the Únětice stream (Únětický potok). At the end of the valley we will pass by the ruins of Maxmiliánka, a spot that was once a famous excursion restaurant and hotel. We will continue to our final destination Zámek Roztoky (Roztoky Chateau) that is a seat of a regional museum. We will also take a look into the chateau garden and, if possible, visit the museum.
- Distance: Approx. 6 km (3,7 miles), easy to moderate walk. Return around 6:30 pm by regional train or bus to Podbaba (or Holešovice).
- Entrance fee: None. You only need to buy a ticket for bus to Únětice, zone 1, and for the return journey a train or bus ticket. You can purchase tickets via the PID mobile app "Lítačka", from the driver, or at the station.
